"'Gunrunner’ is a well written drama with heart. There are countless
exciting set pieces set against a backdrop of political turmoil and
civil war in Africa. There is a colorful cast of characters that are all
richly drawn. These are multi-layered leads and they all feel flawed
and totally realistic (if not lovable at all times). The dialogue is
handled well, the characters all given unique voices and there’s
some solid subtext at play as well. The writer has obviously done
all of the necessary research here and things feel truly authentic.
It is because of all of the positive elements discussed above that
the reader gives both writer and script a consider for this draft.
This is an accomplishment the writer should be truly proud of."

JACK ADAM’S receives an old gold coin from a dying monk.
The monk informs him that thousands more are buried
somewhere in famine-ravaged Arrakan. Determined to find
the treasure, Jack trucks a load of guns to Arrakan, and is
hijacked by a rebel chief, who informs him Arrakans need
food not more guns. Jack recruits a team of ‘volunteers’ and
leads a convoy of UN famine relief trucks from the seaport to
the interior. The convoy is doomed from the start, as Jack has
unwittingly hired stolen trucks from a slimy port agent who also
dabbles in arms smuggling. Consequently, Jack’s convoy is
pursued and hunted down by all manner of vicious characters,
from border police, to desert patrol and the Arrakan air force.
He fights his way through a gauntlet of bombs and bullets only
to be hijacked again, this time by a female rebel chief.
Mistaking him for a famous American singer, she educates
him on famine as a weapon of war and requests his help in
publicising her cause in America. Jack’s mind is fixed on
finding the treasure, but an irresistible attraction, and the
subsequent romance, complicate her plan and endanger his
life.
